Phonics were being taught to young children more than three centuries ago and are not just a modern craze, historians have claimed.

Analysis of one of the world's oldest children's books has revealed an early guide to the practice, which breaks down words into syllables to make them easier to learn.

It was published almost half a century before the next known surviving copy of British children's literature and includes a guide on phonics.

A British team of archaeologists last week announced the discovery of a hoard of ancient texts that they claim could have been written by contemporaries of Christ and whose existence is hinted at in the Bible's apocalyptic Book of Revelation.

Mr Saeda denies the claim, saying the codices have been in his family's possession since they were found by his great-grandfather, an assertion challenged by the Jordanian government, which said it would "exert all efforts at every level" to get the artefacts repatriated.

In slightly unclear circumstances, Dr Elkington's team was allowed access to a small portion of the artefacts where they reached their conclusion.

And that was exactly the case for Sahara Ray on Thursday, as she straddled model Jordan Barrett in bed.
